Dave Aftandilian Turning the key in the rusted lock, I open the massive wooden door just enough to squeeze through, and let it click shut behind me. Fragrant evergreen boughs press against me as I drift through the corridor into the forest beyond. Glowing yellow orbs appear, drawn by my presence, floating amongst the branches. Light seems to be swallowed by them rather than shining forth, and I fear their icy embrace. So I press further into the wood, leaving my old self behind, going to meet my new self ahead.

Septembre I feel I've just awoken from a long slumber to find myself in a verdant and ethereal woodland. Spiritual glimmers are rising toward the heavens from every direction, the ponds are crystalline and reflective, and the towering trees ebb and flow with the wind as they release gently falling leaves. Despite the enchanted imagery, there's something ominous here as well. This album is an atmospheric combination of the light and shadows of the forest, peacefully interweaving the divine and the dark. Favorite track: Mushrooms in the Deepwood.
